Conceptually simple, but the design matters. Note that the walk, while all right angles, meanders down the hill and past the house like a stream. The beds on the sides of the entrance largely the same materials, so it is balanced for color and texture, but not symmetrical. jc

Informal color

Formal and informal garden design emphasizing color at one large property on Cape Cod, on one day in August. There are annuals, and perennials which flower in sequence over the summer. The informal garden, designed to look like a bed of wildflowers, overlooks the water. I also designed the entrance gates. jc
