About Me

My photo
JC
Chatham, Massachusetts, United States
I was an art/theater major at Dartmouth College and have a Masters in Landscape Architecture from LSU. I got some work landscaping at Pleasant Bay Village in Chatham (PBV in the labels) where another man was making Chinese style gardens. After he left I undertook some projects of my own that led to my interest in stone and water gardens. This work became my primary medium; sculpting the hard materials and painting with the plant materials, in effect. I am not emulating any one style now. The work is my own. During the winter of 2010 I envisioned a new way of working steel. I cut a single sheet into a long ribbon, then heated and manipulated it. I'm pleased with what I've done so far and feel I have just begun to explore this technique.
