Woodpile

Woodpile as design element. It is at the end of the driveway, and seen from the road. I try to make an interesting composition of sizes and shapes. jc

Outing

Took the boys out for some fresh air and a new coat of acrylic. jc

This is a few years old, but I I haven't posted it yet. On the left are sketches of stones carved into seats, with some other notes. I gave it to Cape Cod Stone and Masonry in Orleans and they sent them to a quarry somewhere north of there. The quarry did a nice job of trying to match what I drew. They sent five stones (I think) and I picked the one that seemed best. It was roughly the shape of the imagined stone on the left of the page. I worked with CC Stone for a year to get it carved, and they did a great job. It is in memory of Wendy Costello, and has Wendy's Place carved on the front. jc

branching

Intricate branching inside the canopy of an old lace leaf Japanese maple. Note how the one branch has fused into the trunk over time, making that closed loop. jc

Another waterfall

Two views that I haven't posted of yet another little waterfall and gravel garden. jc

Another waterfall and patio

This isn't new work, but I noticed it wasn't posted. In one photo, the waterfall as it is being planted, and the other is a view from the top of the steps the next year. I like the tumbled bluestone patio. jc

Old falls

This is an old waterfall, but I don't think I have posted it. There is a small, red threadleaf maple at the right that has grown about six inches in ten years. jc
I just checked and I did post it. So here it is again.
