One Day in Summer

Welcoming entrance.

Formal color

Informal color
Formal and informal garden design emphasizing color at one large property on Cape Cod, on one day in August. There are annuals, and perennials which flower in sequence over the summer. The informal garden, designed to look like a bed of wildflowers, overlooks the water. I also designed the entrance gates. jc

Walls one year later

Just to re-visit the walls I designed and planted last year. Construction drawing, walls, and after a year of growth. I love the way the shadows play on the curves, and the way the walls intersect. I tried to not over-plant so you can still see the wall forms through the flowers. jc

Flowers

Been a while. This is the site I used for the one year gardens last year. Much better this year. Great hydrangeas. The new wall and plantings look nice, but in a year or two they will be spectacular. All perennials. jc

One year

These are the lilies at the "one year" house, with crocosmia in front. They are about a month late, but it worked out well because the people who own them are just getting here now. I know I just posted a version of the second shot, but I love the composition of the impatiens under the bloodgood maple, and the light was really good today. jc
