Ribbon Gate

My submission for the "Whimsical Garden Gate" display at the Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich. It is on single strip of steel heated and twisted around a steel armature. jc

goddess in white stone

I had to do something with a crate of white stone. She had this dark goddess, so I set it in the white stone grotto. I posted progress shots of this earlier (see pbv label), but the plants are filling in now. Looks good. jc

Appearances opening

Ribbon mobiles #s 5,7 and 8 at the opening of the Appearances show in Provincetown on April 20.  They are being turned by the breeze through an open window. Perfect. jc

Almost done

Done except for some cleanup and the planting. Cool shadow.
Walls done, patio almost. You can see how I break the bluestone into smaller and smaller pieces to make the patio look like cracked porcelain. jc

progress shots

Progress shots for an addition to a water garden I made last year. Decorative terrace walls and a patio. Use the gold threadleaf cypress as point of reference. I am moving some perennials in the first shot. You can get an idea of how I try to make a composition of the various native boulders and the horizontal wall stone in the second shot. jc

#8 in motion

I should do this every time. You see the shapes and the shadow. I just submitted an application to a show in Provincetown and thought of this afterwards. Maybe they will look here. jc

Mobile #8

Two shots of #8. As it rotates it looks like a different piece. Great shadows as well. jc

JC Manero

A little break from the Mobiles. Me and Tone doing some disco at the Chatham Tercentennial Ball. jc

Two shots of the #7. Good demonstration of how they change from different viewpoints. jc

mobile #6

I have new filaments to hang the pieces, and a little spinner that I got at fishing supply store, so they can hang and rotate. jc

Mobile #5

This one looks like it should be hanging from a tree somewhere. jc

Mobiles three and four

These are a bit misleading in that the piece on the bottom is less than half the size of the other. jc

Adding a little movie for the first time. This is mobile 3 jc

Ribbon Mobiles

The next series of ribbon sculptures. The left piece is about four feet long, the other only 18 inches. jc

Woodpile

Woodpile as design element. It is at the end of the driveway, and seen from the road. I try to make an interesting composition of sizes and shapes. jc
